As a left arm spinner Jon played for Berkshire and England Schools Under 19's. After a back injury Jon turned his hand to batting, scoring over 60 hundreds in local cricket.

Jon spent the winter of 2017 alongside international cricketers such as James Taylor, Azhar Mahmood (current Pakistan coach) and Ian Harvey completing his ECB Level 3 Performance Coaching Badge. He was also one of the first coaches in Berkshire to undergo the ECB's Diploma in Coaching Cricket.

Jon has spent many years as a lead coach for the Berkshire youth teams in both boys and girls cricket. He fully understand that there is a difference between girls and boys cricket and therefore that there needs to be a slightly different approach to coaching for each.

Jon is popular amongst the children. His relaxed and friendly approach immediately makes children feel comfortable providing a platform for them to improve.
